Agril Entomology

About the Department

            The department of Agricultural Entomology started functioning with the establishment of the College of Agriculture, Bijapur, a constituent college of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. The full fledged M.Sc programme initiated during the academic year 2011-12. During the first academic year four students admitted to the department. Maximum number admitted for the department till today is seven. The department is having three laboratories equipped with all teaching aids like Smart board, LCD, Charts, Computer connected internet both LAN and WiFi facilities. Along with teaching faculty, faculty from other wings like Extension and Research are also made to involve in teaching. Research issues are mainly aimed at solving the burning entomological problems of major crops including millets, pulses, and vegetables as well as fruit crops. Along with teaching and research, faculty members are always ready to serve farmers by providing consultancy services and diagnostic field visits.
